AAMI PARK
The $267.5 million Melbourne Rectangular Stadium MRS has a capacity for over 30,000 patrons and features a cutting edge 'bio-frame' roof design providing extensive seat coverage and excellent spectator sight lines. AAMI Park in Melbourne as it is now known, is the latest in a string of iconic structures in this world renowned sports precinct. Cocciardi was the leading party in a Joint Venture to model and detail the AAMI Park project. Cocciardi was responsible for the Roof and Light towers. For the roof steelwork there were over 20,000 individual fabrication details as well as the many sub assembly drawings, almost 1400 marking plans to cover the 20 shells, each pipe section required its own pipe wrap detail and associated DXF file. Each plate and bracket required its own connection sheet and associated DXF file. The number of connections varied between the shells as the number and shape of the sub frames changed to suit the geometry involved. Additional to the drawings and data files were approximately 500 Material Assembly and bolt lists. This is truly a world standard project.
