This multipurpose venue in the heart of the sporting precinct provides Melbourne with another world class venue. This time with the emphasis on cycling, the world class velodrome has some unique features including a raiseable section to allow drive though access to the centre floor space. With seating capacity for over 10,000, an operable roof and a raiseable seating section, the venue has the ability to encompass a variety of indoor sports. One major aspect of the construction phase was the lift of each of the two 300tonne fully clad roof panels.The staff now at CPL, worked very closely with all members of the construction team to achieve a very accurate preassembly enabling this significant lift to proceed without problem.
